Newcastle 1-2 Everton: Defeat Despite Taking The Lead As Ba Misses Match To Negotiate Chelsea Move

Newcastle surrendered a lead to lose at home to Everton with Demba Ba missing the match to negotiate a move to Chelsea. 

 

The striker is expected to complete his move to the London club imminently after their offer, thought to be £7m, triggered his contractual release clause at Newcastle.

Both sides carved out chances in an open first half, with Marouane Fellaini losing his balance when well placed to shoot inside the Magpies area and James Perch crashing a header against the post at the other end.
